What Sparkbook is
Sparkbook is software for Australian electrical and trade contractors. It puts rosters and FIFO swings, a tool register with test-gear calibration, company forms, tickets and licences, and cable registers in one app for the office and the crew, on a phone or a computer.
- Website: https://www.sparkbook.com.au
- Made in Western Australia. Customer data is stored in Sydney, Australia, and each company only sees its own records.
- Contact: support@sparkbook.com.au
Who it’s for
Electrical contractors and other trade contractors in Australia who run crews, from small businesses with a few jobs on to medium contractors doing FIFO and mine-site work.
What it does
- Cable register. Import the cable schedule a contractor already has, as an Excel or CSV file. Mark each cable pulled, terminated at both ends and tested, with insulation resistance and continuity readings and who did the work, and export a spreadsheet for the handover pack. Cable work can be recorded without signal and syncs when the device is back in range.
- Tools and calibration. Shows where every tool and tester is and who has it. Crew check tools out and back in from a phone. Calibration dates and certificates are kept on each tool, instruments due for calibration stand out a month ahead, and lost or unsafe tools are blocked until someone clears them.
- Rosters and FIFO swings. Weekly rosters that are drafted, then published; FIFO rosters such as 8 on, 6 off; leave requests and availability. Staff see their own roster and get a notification when it changes.
- Forms. Share company forms with staff and get them sent back filled in, with the file attached.
- Team, tickets and licences. Invite crew with a text message link that has their role already picked, set what each role can do, and keep licences and tickets current, flagged 60 days before they expire.
- Activity. Every change records who made it and when.
Sparkbook does not do quotes, invoices, payments or accounting.
Pricing
One price per company per month, in Australian dollars, not per person. Crew never pay. Prices include GST where GST applies.
- Free: $0, up to 8 people, 1 project and up to 50 cables.
- Crew: $99 a month, up to 15 people, unlimited projects and cables.
- Contractor: $249 a month, up to 40 people, unlimited projects and cables.
- Business: $549 a month, up to 100 people, unlimited projects and cables.
- Enterprise: price by arrangement, for unlimited people, projects and cables, with invoiced billing and help moving records over. Email support@sparkbook.com.au.
Every plan has every feature. Plans only differ in how many people, projects and cables a company can have, and people means everyone in the company on Sparkbook, including the owner and the office.
Free trial: every new company gets 30 days with everything unlocked and no limits, and no card is needed. If a plan is chosen during the trial, the first charge is on day 30. A company that hasn’t chosen a plan when the trial ends moves to the Free plan and keeps its records.
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew until cancelled. There is no lock-in contract: the company owner can cancel any time, and the plan runs to the end of the month already paid for.
